论文概要

    人类在继续着历史的脚步。即使以今天对往事的知识和经验，历史一直是一种阴影，对当代发生的事件，事故和插曲有着某种相似之处。这种毁灭的循环因为一个主要的因素，忽视，在继续衰亡着我们的社会。南京强奸事件继续成为一种看得见的阴影，以不同的方式继续出现着，如“米莱大屠杀”，最近在苏丹发生的“种族清洗”以及令人震惊的阿布格莱布监狱丑闻。日本继续对往事保持否认，拒绝承认其在南京和亚洲其它地方所犯下的暴行。我们，作为个人，可以通过唤起公众对这些事件的关注，阻止日本的继续漠视，从而揭示其本来面目。现在到了日本转过身来面对阴影，检讨过去，拥抱历史的时候了。

    Over the years, the world has turned a blind eye to the Rape of Nanjing, forgetting to confront the past in order to shape the future.  Still today, the perpetrators deny the truth, choosing to live in an illusionary world where no divisions of truth and falsity exist.  However, education and action can undermine Japan’s denial and open the world’s eyes to the Rape of Nanjing.  The peaceful fight for the victims is not an act of vengeance, but  rather it is call for justice that has been muffled for far too long.
